Welcome to para! Sounds great, doesn’t it? I mean, what could be better than a small group that understands the trials and tribulations that you struggle with every day?
There are birth defect paras, accident paras, paras that have never ridden a horse before, paras with their Bronze medal, paras with backyard ponies and paras with $250,000 dressage horses. There are wheelchair paras and paras that you have to ask what’s wrong with them because it isn’t immediately evident. (That’s me. There are many people in the periphery of my life that still don’t know.)
What brings us together is our love of horses and our competitive spirit. Being a para-equestrian has changed my life in ways I never imagined, all for the best. Join us at USPEA, contact me, look for us at shows, friend me on Facebook. I want to bring this sport into the spotlight every chance I get.
Maybe you’ll be in the next group vying for a place on the American team! Maybe you’ll find riders with similar issues who can be of great help and even greater support. I did.
Welcome to Para!
